Exciting Recipes Made out of Crab Cakes and Lobster Tails
A crab cake recipe is simply delicious to eat. It is believed that the usage of crab cakes as a substantial dish first took place in United States during the colonial times. However, they are mostly associated with Maryland and Baltimore. The Chesapeake Bay area is the main reason for the abundance of these crabs in Atlantic.
Recipes made out of lobster tails and crab cakes are both very popular all throughout the world. The cakes can vary in size and can be grilled, boiled, baked, deep-fried, or pan-fried. No matter what you decide to do with your crab cake, it would taste delicious. The type of dish or preparation with a crab cake also depends on your choice. You can make a simple recipe with some essential ingredients along with the crab or can make it complex by adding and mixing more than thirty ingredients. For instance, a boardwalk crab cake typically includes mayonnaise, egg, milk, and breadcrumbs. Usually, a hamburger bun is used for their serving. For more taste, you can ask the shop owner to sprinkle lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles on the top of the bun. It will just cost you a tad extra.
On the other hand, gourmet or restaurant crab cakes use less number of ingredients. However, they compensate it by adding a substantial portion of the crabmeat. A dollop of cocktail sauce and tartar sauce provides the mouth-watering taste. Open-faced sandwiches are used instead of a bun. Every region provides its own flair and taste to the recipes. For example, mango sauce over the cakes provides them a typical Caribbean style. Again, Asian fish sauce gives the cakes a touch of oriental taste.
However, a crab cake preparation is usually expensive. For this reason, fishes like Hoki and Pollack are often used as a replacement for the crabmeat. People even make their own recipes with butter, egg, lobster tails and zucchini, and include very little or no crabmeat whatsoever. But fishes and other ingredients are no substitute to the tasty crab cakes. It is so tasty, that it would be wise to save your expenses on other food items, for a large chunk of crabmeat cake.
The cakes can be dished out as appetizers or hors d’oeuvres. They can also fit the bill for a perfect supper or lunch. Recipes made out of lobster tails are also popular. Previously, they were only consumed by the fishermen and sailors, however today it is an expensive restaurant dish. Moreover, the process of cooking a lobster tail is also simple. You can steam, bake, boil and grill the tails. If you decide to grill the tails, then remember to add lemon juice, olive oil, pepper, salt, garlic powder, and melted butter in it. It would taste great!
A lobster tail can be of two types – cold watered tail and warm watered tail. The cold water tails provide tender meat and also tastes very good. However, they are also rare to find and are very expensive.
