I think for the first time that I can remember I am a bit aprehensive about post consumer recycling. A friend emailed me to tell me about a web site where you can recycle your adult play toys…you know the ones hidden in the naughty drawer. Well…I am not so sure if I like this idea. Hey you all know I LOVE recycling. It is one of the 3 Rs of environmentalism for heavens sake, but recycling sex toys?????
The site in question is Sex Toy Recycling and the basic idea is this:
You take your used toy and seal it in a special envelope the site provides. You mail it to their processing center and they get sterilized and sorted. Mechanical toys are sent to technicians to see if they can be refurbished and silicone and rubber toys are ground up and recycled into new toys. For sanitary reasons all the toys get a layer of NEW silicone too.
And as a reward for recycling your old friend you get a $5.oo gift certificate towards a recycled one from their store.
I don’t know if this is a post consumer waste product that I could buy. 
But if you can buy without issue then more power to you! Where do you stand ?
